Introduction to Permaculture: Mushrooms
Learn Permaculture principles by growing mushrooms
Ready Set Work Permaculture is a practical course which introduces you to permaculture principles by learning about the incredible world of mycelium mushrooms.
- Learn about basic principles of permaculture and sustainability
- Create your own take home mushroom grow kit.
- Grow oyster mushrooms on coffee grounds and waste paper
This course is government funded. Must be a Centrelink concession card holder and not enrolled in mainstream secondary school to be eligible to enroll.
There are no pre-requisites for this course.
Please submit your expression of interest through WeTeachMe, our course coordinator will be in touch to confirm enrollment. Registration not confirmed until you hear from a Jesuit Social Services staff member.
- Basic skills and understanding of permaculture principles
- The life-cycle and growing conditions of mushrooms
- How to reuse coffee grounds, wood chips and paper to grow mushrooms at home
- A mushroom home-grow kit

Limited 2 hour street parking.
Accessible by Tram 19 (stop - Dawson St.) and Upfield Train (stop -Jewell station)
- No materials needed
Comfortable clothing to be outside in the garden, closed toed shoes, a hat and sunscreen
Must hold a concession card to be eligible for the course
Jesuit Community College requires 48 hours notice via email prior to the start of a class or event for a full refund or transfer. Refunds and transfers will not be processed if cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the event commencing. We do not offer refunds for missed classes. There are no fees for refunds or transfers. For cancellations prior to the 48 hour cut off, email Jesuit Community College to organise a refund or transfer
Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at Jesuit Community College or organised by Jesuit Community College must agree to these terms and conditions.
1.) LIABILITY WAIVER
I agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which I might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by Jesuit Community College.
2.) PHOTO & VIDEO
I agree to give Jesuit Community College unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at Jesuit Community College classes and events or on Jesuit Community College's premises. (For use of Jesuit Community College marketing materials).
Jesuit Community College requires 48 hours notice in writing prior to the class for a full refund or transfer.
In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via text message or email and entitled to a full refund or credit.
